The LG Optimus G Pro has been in the news for quite a while now, and this time there’s yet more information to follow up on it.
Per reports, the upcoming and heavily rumored LG Optimus G Pro is said to offer a boatload of features, and among them is a massive 3000mAh Battery, alongside 1080P display.
This is a brand new development in the Optimus G Pro story after it was speculated that the smartphone has a massive chance of featuring at the upcoming MWC 2013 event set to be held in Barcelona. The first time the device actually came into contention was when the earlier model with the same name was seen as a part of Japan’s NTT DoCoMo’s spring phones.
The LG Optimus G Pro, announced in Japan last month, is part of what NTT DoCoMo is labeling as the “NEXT series.” Apart from the new G Pro, the list also contained the Sony Xperia Z (said to be available February 9), and the Huawei Ascend D2 (early April). Both devices are expected to reach North America and Europe soon.
As reported by Gadget Gestures, the new “LG phone is likely to outdo its predecessor in terms of its size and other features. Optimus G Pro will come with a larger 5.5 inch screen. It will continue with its 1080p HD LCD screen. A larger screen will need to be powered with a powerful 3140mAh battery instead of a 3000mAh.”
The report also states that the new phone is likely to arrive with a 1.7 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor with 2 GB of RAM, alongside two cameras – a 13 megapixel camera at the back and a two megapixel in front. The device’s storage can be expanded to 64 GB although it will have 32GB of its own storage, and an additional 32 GB can be obtained with the inclusion of a micro SD card.
Previously, a Phone Arena report stated: “Our source also sent over a picture of allegedly the LG Optimus G Pro version for the Korean carrier LG U+, where you can see the thin side bezel, and the slim physical home key underneath the display.”
The photos that Phone Arena leaked on the Internet show that the device looks something very similar to the Samsung-made Galaxy Note 2.
