A few days ago we told you that sources had revealed Google and Motorola's upcoming X Phone would be a "real breakthrough, game changer that will put pressure on Apple and Samsung." Those rumors are beginning to heat up even more as sources are claiming that the X Phone will be the first Android smartphone to ship with Key Lime Pie goodness baked in.
Too many leaks about Google and Motorola's X Phone haven't surfaced, but according to a new rumor posted on DroidForums from a reliable source, more information is coming out on the X Phone, although it still needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt.
The information posted alleges the X Phone will have a 5-inch display with an edge-to-edge and nearly bezel-free design. This would be in line with Motorola's current RAZR M that features an edge-to-edge display with a tiny bezel. The source claims the smartphone will look and feel smaller than the Samsung Galaxy S3. Don't count on the X Phone to pick up the Nexus branding before it is released.
The rumor also states the smartphone will be Motorola's first cross-carrier smartphone, not a Verizon exclusive like most of Motorola's smartphones, and supposedly it has been designed to be its own brand. The source also states this will be the first smartphone to ship with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and we'll see its unveiling at Google's I/O Conference May 15 through 17. The source also claims Google and Motorola have been working hard to create a UI that will compliment and enhance the Android experience: very similar to how Nexus devices ship.
The X Phone is beginning to get increased rumor coverage as we get close to Google I/O. If this smartphone really lives up to the hype of being a game-changer, these rumors are certainly painting that picture.
