After the PlayStation 4 reveal event, Sony released a press statement detailing the specifications of the PS4. The specs inside the device are equivalent to a low-end gaming PC, with only the 8GB GDDR5 memory making it competitive with high-end gaming computers.
Apart from the massive amount of memory, there is nothing special and exciting about the PlayStation 4's hardware. The real excitement lies in the connectivity and social features the Sony plans to implement in the console before it ships this holiday season. If the Japanese giant can pull it off, there is a chance the name PlayStation could be on top of the video game console world once more.
