If you are a Motorola smartphone user and still waiting for a Jelly Bean update, you have some good news coming in.
It is not that the Jelly Bean update is going to come in some days, but now you won't have to go through many tech Web sites to know about the possible arrival of the update.
Motorola, to support its customers, has upgraded its support page which lets you know about the possible updates, device compatibility, and many other things.
Motorola users can find their devices after choosing the carrier in the list and check whether their device is fit to get a Jelly Bean update or not.
Once you select your carrier, a list of supported devices will appear. Clicking on the device will tell you about the next upgrade of the operation system. In case the upgrade is not ready for the device, the page will tell you "This device will be upgraded to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1)." At the same time it also allows you to "Receive emails when software updates are available for your device."
If you are still using some outdated devices which will never be updated to Jelly Bean from Gingerbread, you will have an option of trading up your device for a discount of $100 on the new Motorola smartphone you purchase.
For example if you are using Motorola Cliq 2 (MB611) on T-Mobile, your device will always remain on Ginerbread, but Motorola gives you another option, "This device will remain on Gingerbread, but you're eligible for our Trade Up program."
"If you already own a Motorola device, you may be eligible to receive a $100 rebate* when you purchase and trade up to select Jelly Bean upgradeable devices," Motorola's support page read.
The devices valid for Motorola's trade up program are Droid X2, Droid 3, Admiral, Atrix 2, Atrix 4G, Cliq 2, Electrify, Milestone 3 XT861, Milestone X2, Photon 4G, Xprt, Titanium, and Triumph.
