Microsoft's Windows Phone is back in news, and this time there's new information related to the Windows Phone's upcoming prospects.
Per reports, a brand new job posting from Microsoft that just recently popped up on the Web states that the company is actually looking forward to introduce a boatload of Windows Phone-based smartphones as well as a new version of the OS in the future.
"This is a great time to join as we're completing our current release are getting ready for our next release targeting the holiday of this year and we're chartered with keeping the momentum for Windows Phone by bringing new killer devices and delightful user experiences. There are enormous growth opportunities in this role and organization," the post states.
This is a new piece of information as far as Windows Phone is concerned after it was previously reported that Microsoft was planning to introduce a proposed batch of updates, codenamed 'Blue' that would affect multiple Microsoft platforms and service.
Blue is an internal codename for Microsoft's products and services to be updated, refreshed and further integrated with one another. It was stated via a previous report by ZDNet's Mary Jo Foley that Blue "also is the way Microsoft is referring to the next substantial platform update for Windows Phone, the Windows Services (like SkyDrive, Hotmail, etc.), and Windows Server, according to my source."
"In other words, Blue is a wave of product refreshes which are not expected to arrive exactly all on the same day, but which are meant to be released more or less around the same time."
However, the extent of this integration is still uncertain as of now.
Nonetheless, before fans and users are able to get hold of the next major release of Windows Phone, it's believed that Microsoft will release a number of minor updates, like Portico during the first GDR (General Distribution Release). Similar to the first GDR, users will also be set to see GDR2 this coming summer and GDR3 thereafter.
These releases are also said to include bug fixes and minor features bundled.
Windows Phone Blue is expected to be the next big milestone for the WP platform, although nothing really can be detailed about it as of now.
