Finally C Spire customers have a reason to be happy about their choice of Galaxy S3 as the device is finally getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update. C Spire has officially announced that the Jelly Bean update is being pushed out Over-The-Air (OTA) in phases to Galaxy S3.
As the software update brings C Spire users up to Android 4.1.2 - build L710WWMB3, they receive a bunch of new features apart from the usual Jelly Been goodness like Project Butter and Google Now. In addition, the Jelly Bean update also includes a couple of specific fixes and enhancements to the software.
As Android Central notes, Android 4.1.2 will bring several apps including Chrome, Paper Artist and Voice Search to Samsung Galaxy S3 together with a dozen or more new widgets that come on to the smartphone with the update. The major fixes include S Voice update, MusicHub 3.0 update and streaming audio/video fix.
"Software updates are available OTA (Over the Air) and are 'pushed' to devices in stages. Mobile device selection is random. To manually check for the update, launch the Settings app and go to About device, then System updates. Tap Check now to check for the update. Customers with a PC or Mac may also choose to install Samsung Kies for PC or Mac and connect the Galaxy S3 via USB cable to check for the Jelly Bean 4.1.2 update," the C Spire Wireless said in its official release note.
As mentioned, you can manually check for the update in your phone's settings and if you have a bit of time on your schedule, you can download the Kies desktop software and install the update manually.
