Samsung finally shed some light on the U.S. availability of its new Galaxy S4 flagship smartphone, officially announcing the handset's availability from carriers and retailers.

While the new Samsung Galaxy S4 grabbed the spotlight since its announcement, the handset's availability and pricing in the U.S. was still shrouded in mystery for the most part. Now, the South Korean tech giant decided to make things clear and announce the availability of its 2013 flagship at seven U.S. network carriers and seven retailers. On the other hand, the company still offered no exact release date, mentioning only a vague "April" timeframe.

"The Galaxy S 4 is optimized for powerful performance on the nation's fastest networks and will be available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon Wireless as well as U.S. Cellular, Cricket and C Spire starting during April," reads the press release. "Additionally, consumers can find the Galaxy S 4 at Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile, Costco, Radio Shack, Sam's Club, Staples, Target and Wal-Mart. Exact pricing and retail availability will be announced by each of the carriers and retailers in the coming weeks."

While left out of the press release, MetroPCS seems to be on board as well. Samsung's website, meanwhile, only lists Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon, as well as links to AT&T and U.S. Cellular pre-order pages for the Samsung Galaxy S4. As mentioned in the press release, official release date and pricing announcements should follow shortly from the various network carriers stocking the Samsung Galaxy S4.
