Samsung Galaxy S3 was the biggest-selling Android smartphone of last year and the device is all set to get its second operating system update.
T-Mobile has shown its speed and has released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 devices. The update is available over the air (OTA) and can also be flashed with the help of Samsung KIES.
"Beginning May 13, the Samsung Galaxy S III will have a software update to Android version 4.1.2/ Software T999UVDMD5 via OTA and Samsung Kies. This update includes new features like Multi-Window, Auto-pairing via NFC, enhanced Camera options, Sound Balance and many more," T-Mobile posted on its support page.
The update is said to have landed on Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone with some features like that of the Galaxy S4.
Easy Mode and Blocking Mode are two features that were launched with the Galaxy S4 and are now reaching T-Mobile's Galaxy S3 devices with the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean firmware.
According to Tmonews, the update weighing 187 MB has brought some more features like Group Play and T-Mobile's new 4G logo along with the update.
"At least one person receiving the update noticed the inclusion of two more apps: Paper Artist and Group Play and T-Mobile's new "4G" logo," the report stated.
T-Mobile released the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S2 smartphones last month. The update landed with:
- Buttery Smooth Performance and Great Stability (Thanks to Project Butter)
- Full User Interface Revamp (Same UI as of the Galaxy S III and Galaxy Note II)
- TouchWiz Nature UX
- Samsung's S Cloud services
- Improved Camera features
- New Lockscreen With Many Customization Options
- New Features like Direct Call, Smart Stay and Pop-up Play
- New Widgets (From Galaxy S III)
- 2 Home screen modes
- New Notification Bar With More Notification Toggles
