On May 14, Nokia unveiled the Lumia 928, a device that is exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the United States. Fortunately, for new buyers, the device is now on sale at some online retailers for $49.99 on a two year contract - a really great price if you want a high-end Windows Phone 8 device on Verizon.
The device began its life on Verizon with a $99.99 price tag on a two year contract, so what could be the reason behind the steep fall in price? Several factors could be the reason behind this, which includes the fact that the Lumia 928 is just a minor upgrade over the Lumia 920, thus meaning it brings nothing new except for an updated camera and Xenon Flash.
Furthermore, online retailers could be finding it difficult to sell the Nokia Lumia 928 when the HTC One and Galaxy S4 is hot on the market. So the best solution to this problem is to drop the price of the device significantly to attract potential buyers who are not loyal to any platform. We could be wrong in our assumption; however, we do know these prices are not for promotional purposes.
The Lumia 928 is the first high-end Nokia-branded Windows Phone 8 device on Verizon Wireless. With the platform slowly rising, this device could mean good things for Verizon, Microsoft and especially Nokia.
The Nokia Lumia 928 is very similar to the Lumia 920 with its 4.5-inch display, 1GB RAM, 8.7-megapixel PureView camera, and 1.5GHz dual core Snapdragon processor. The difference lies in the design of the Lumia 928, which is slimmer and lighter than the Lumia 928, but not by much. The outside is of the same polycarbonate material, so you won't be missing out on that.
The online retailers that are selling the Lumia 928 for $49.99 are Wirefly and RadioShack.
