Apple CEO, Tim Cook has his own opinion of Google Glass, and as you might have expected, it is not all apple and roses. Cook believes Glass is "incredibly interesting"; however, the device might not appeal to everyone, well, at least for now.
Speaking at the AllThingsD conference, Cook had a few words to say about Google Glass, and even hinted at the rumored iWatch device that has been in the news for quite some time.
"I'm interested in a great product. I wear glasses because I have to. People generally want glasses to reflect their fashion, style, etc. So this is difficult from a mainstream point of view," he said. "I think the wrist is natural. I think there are other things in this space that could be interesting.
"There are lots of wearables, but of the ones doing more than one thing, I haven't seen anything great out there. Nothing that will convince a kid that's never worn glasses or a band to wear one."
From Cook's statement, it is clear that Apple has interest in wrist-based wearable technology, but whether or not the company is working on an iWatch device is yet to be confirmed. Furthermore, while Cook might firmly believe that Glass has a slim chance of succeeding now, things could change down the line if Google is able to deal with the privacy concerns that are currently plaguing the device.
Meanwhile, despite Apple's fall in stock value and market concerns that the company is unable to come up with new tricks, Cook doesn't appear to believe that is true.
"We have some incredible plans that we have been working on for a while... we have several more game changers in us," he claimed.
It is likely one of these game changers is probably the rumored iWatch and Apple TV. One thing is for certain - Apple needs to show its hand very soon to keep up with Google and Samsung before it loses focus.
