Samsung had released a series of accessories for its Galaxy S4 smartphone even before the device was actually launched. However, the list of accessories lacked a very crucial thing - the wireless charging kit. It has now been officially released.
The wireless charging kit for the Galaxy S4 has been priced at $90, but the kit is comprised of two different components that can be bought separately.
To make your Galaxy S4 a wireless charging device, you will need to buy a charging cover that will replace the back cover of your device, and the Qi-certified charging pad.
The back cover and the charging pad are being sold separately for $39.99 and $49.99 respectively. However, if you already have a Qi-certified charging pad you can save $49.99 as the back cover of the charging kit is compatible with any Qi-certified charging plate.
There are already some companies that are making the wireless charging possible for the Galaxy S4 smartphones and ZENS is one of those.
ZENS has been providing wireless solutions to products like Nokia Lumia, Nexus 4 and iPhone 5.
"Following the success of the ZENS Wireless Charging Cover for the Galaxy S3, the new products are especially designed to support the Samsung Galaxy S4. The ZENS Wireless Charging Cover will enable wireless charging of your Samsung Galaxy S4, while all other functions such as NFC will continue to be supported on your Samsung Galaxy S4," ZENS stated in its press release.
ZEN's wireless charging cover is available for €29.99 and the charging plate costs €49.99. However, both the components are available for only €69.99 when you buy it in bundle.
Samsung's official charging pad uses 2 Amp charger to function and comes with an LED indicator.
The LED indicator turns green once you place the Galaxy S4 on it properly, however the LED indicator will be yellow, if the phone is not placed properly. The back cover and the charging plate are available in white color.
