Sprint is building its Windows 8 lineup with two new smmartphones, the Samsugn ATIV S Neo and the HTC 8XT, both of which will launch later this summer.
The HTC 8XT will launch with a $99.99 price tag with a new line or eligible upgrade, a two-year contract with Sprint and $50 mail-in rebate via reward card. The new Samsung ATIV S Neo, meanwhile, will cost $149.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade, with the same two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate via reward card.
"We know our customers are anxious to get their hands on these Windows Phone 8 smartphones, HTC 8XT and ATIV S Neo," Farid Adib, Sprint's Senior Vice President of Product Development, touts in the press release. "Without a doubt, they will rival any smartphone on the market today. Our customers will appreciate being able to use them all day, every day without worrying about overages or data caps."
"We are excited to be bringing the most personal smartphone experience to Sprint customers this summer," adds Terry Myerson, Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Windows Phone Division. "With compelling hardware from HTC and Samsung, coupled with unlimited 4G LTE from Sprint, these Windows Phones will offer the complete package."
The HTC 8XT headed to Sprint this summer packs a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.4GHz and 1GB of RAM under the hood. It has 8GB of internal storage capacity, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera capable of shooting full HD video in 1080p, as well as a 1.6-megapixel front-facing shooter.
The Samsung ATIV S Neo, meanwhile, is quite similar to the ATIV S smartphone. This Windows Phone 8 handset sports a 4.8-inch HD touch screen display and packs a dual-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz and 1GB of RAM. Other specs and features include an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.9-megapixel front camera. The handset has a micro SD card slot for additional memory, but it remains unspecified for now just how much internal storage it will have.
Sprint announced plans to launch both the HTC 8XT and the Samsung ATIV S Neo this summer, but noted that it will share exact availability dates and full feature lists for both handsets "at a later date."
