The purported HTC One Max, also referred to as the T6, has surfaced online in a newly-leaked press render.
The HTC One Max is expected to make its debut as the company's latest extra-large Android smartphone. The purported press render comes courtesy of a well-known leakster who has a good track record when it comes to unannounced devices.
The leakster in question is none other than famous @evleaks, whose renders are often accurate depictions of upcoming products. The tipster posted the image on his Google+ account. Readers can also find the leaked image on @evleaks' Twitter account.
The tipster doesn't give much to go on other than the image, but a short description does mention that this is the "HTC T6, non-final artwork." The HTC T6 is just a codename and the device is expected to join the company's One family as the HTC One Max, giving the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra a run for their money.
The recent trend has clearly demonstrated that smaller screens just don't cut it anymore for many users and so-called "phablet" devices are increasingly gaining momentum. The HTC One Max is expected to launch as a bigger version of the HTC One flagship, sporting similar design and updated specs. This non-final press render that surfaced online seems to confirm the same.
This is not the first time the HTC One Max leaks online. Chinese retailer ePrice recently posted some images of the purported phablet, detailing some specs as well. The device is expected to sport a massive 5.9-inch Full HD (1080p) display, a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage expandable via microSD, HTC's UltraPixel camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 2-1.megapixel front camera and a 3,300 mAh battery.
After various HTC One Max images leaked recently, this non-final press render comes as no big surprise. The Sony Xperia Z Ultra is already official and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to make its debut early next month on Sept. 4, but no event date is known yet for the HTC One Max unveiling.
