The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch will reportedly make its debut alongside the new Galaxy note 3 on Sept. 4 and now some specs have leaked for the upcoming gadget.

As usual with big unveilings, unconfirmed specs leak ahead of the big announcement to paint a picture of what to expect. The upcoming Samsung smartwatch is no different and now a new report claims to have some information about the gadget's specifications.

In a new report, SamMobile claims to have received an anonymous tip about the Samsung Gear hardware. The publication, however, points out that it hasn't been able to confirm the accuracy of the information. SamMobile usually posts leaks and details it obtains from its trusted sources, but this is apparently not the case. In other words, treat this report accordingly, as nothing is confirmed just yet and even SamMobile labels this information as a rumor.

"Take this information with a pinch of salt as these specifications came from an anonymous source and we are not able to confirm this information with our insiders at the moment," notes SamMobile.

According to the publication's tipster, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Gear will sport a 1.67-inch AMOLED display with a 320 x 320 resolution, a dual-core Samsung Exynos 4212 processor clocked at 1.5GHz, ARM Mali-400 MP4 graphics, 1GB of RAM, Bluetooth and NFC support, as well as a 2-megapixel camera. Previous rumors suggested that the gadget would sport a flexible display.

A separate Bloomberg report, meanwhile, reveals that the Samsung Gear smartwatch will indeed make its debut on Sept. 4 at the company's Unpacked event in Berlin, Germany, as expected. However, Bloomberg says that the smartwatch will not feature a flexible display as previously rumored.

While plenty of rumors regarding the Samsung Gear smartwatch have been making rounds recently, nothing is certain or official just yet. The only solid evidence is a patent filing from Samsung describing a smartwatch and a Galaxy Gear trademark for such a wearable computing device. The smartwatch reportedly has the model number SM-V700, but this is not confirmed either.

With Sept. 4 just around the corner, however, more details about the upcoming Samsung Gear smartwatch should become available soon enough.
