Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet leaks in first image

A purported Samsung Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet has leaked in a photo for the first time, on the heels of the company's Unpacked pre-IFA 2013 event.

Samsung has already confirmed that it will unveil its Galaxy Note 3 and its first smartwatch, dubbed the Galaxy Gear, on Sept. 4 at its Unpacked event. New rumors, however, suggest that a Galaxy Note 12.2 device may also make its debut on the same date.

The purported Galaxy note 12.2 tablet is the same as what previously leaked as the SM-P900 and Korean site MovePlayer now claims to have an image of the new tablet.

While rumors of a 12.2-inch Samsung tablet have been making rounds for a few months now, this is the first time that a leaked image of the purported device emerges.

Back in late July, we reported on some rumored specifications of two Samsung tablets, with details coming from famous tipster @evleaks. The first tablet had the model number SM-P900 and is expected to sport a 12.2-inch screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. The tablet was also rumored to include Samsung's popular S-Pen stylus, as well as an Exynos 5 Octa 5420 processor.

The second tablet had the model number P600 and is expected to have a 10-inch display with the same 2560 x 1600 resolution, but with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor under the hood.

Samsung has never been too shy on flooding the market with a slew of devices in various sizes, specs and price points, so a 12.2-inch Galaxy Note tablet is not completely out of the question. This, however, does not mean that the leaked image is actually the real deal. As always with such leaks and speculations, it is advised to take things with a grain of salt.

If rumors prove to be true and Samsung does plan on announcing a Galaxy Note 12.2 tablet as well at its Unpacked event, it won't be long until we learn more details. Until then, this model and its purported specifications remain in the rumor state.
