The new Google Nexus 7 (2013) tablet is now available for pre-order from T-Mobile, with shipping set to start on Nov. 20.
It's worth noting here that Nov. 20 is also the rumored launch date for the Nexus 5 smartphone on T-Mobile's network, but that is not confirmed yet. What is certain is that the Magenta carrier is now taking pre-orders for the new Nexus 7, which will work on its 4G LTE network.
The new Nexus 7 is, of course, available from the Google Play store as well, but it's not subsidized. Those who can afford to pay the outright price would have to shell out $349 for the slate from Google Play, while T-Mobile is asking for $384. In other words, it would make sense to get it from T-Mobile if you want to purchase the new Nexus 7 for $0 upfront, otherwise you would pay $35 more than on Google Play.
The Nexus 7 (2013) is available from T-Mobile for $0 upfront, followed by 24 equal installments of $16 per month. If you cancel the service before the 24 months pass, the remaining balance for the device will become due.
This year's version of the Google Nexus 7 sports a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front-facing shooter. The slate packs a 3,950 mAh battery and currently runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It should, however, receive an update to the latest Android 4.4 KitKat very soon.
Getting the tablet from T-Mobile would also mean being able to connect it to the carrier's LTE network, something that owners of the new Nexus 7 on Verizon are still waiting for (although the tablet is LTE-capable, they still cannot activate it on Verizon's network.)
The new Google Nexus 7 is considered one of the best tablets currently available on the market, combining high-end specs and features with an affordable price tag and the much-touted Nexus experience. To pre-order the Nexus 7 (2013) from T-Mobile, head here.
