Nokia fans in the U.S. are in for some good news, as AT&T has started taking pre-orders for the Lumia 1520, with deliveries set for Nov. 22.
The carrier will charge $199.99 for the Nokia Lumia 1520 on a two-year contract. For those unfamiliar with the device, the Lumia 1520 is not only the first Nokia phablet, but also the first Windows Phone phablet, sporting a generous 6-inch display.
"Well, we've got great news to share: Nokia Lumia 1520 with 16 gigabytes of phone memory will be available beginning November 22 at the price of $199.99 with a two-year agreement with AT&T," reads the announcement on Nokia's Conversations blog. "Want to get a hop on crowds in the store on launch day? You can pre-order your Nokia Lumia 1520 starting today at https://att.com/lumia1520 or by visiting your AT&T store."
The new Nokia Lumia 1520 is the company's first big-screen flagship smartphone, boasting a 6-inch display with a full HD 1080p resolution. The handset further packs the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, i.e. the quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz.
Nokia has also added a high-end 20-megapixel PureView camera, which comes with some neat features and functionality of its own.
"The Nokia Lumia 1520 isn't just a pretty face, this phone is packed with an industry leading 20 megapixel PureView camera with ZEISS optics and optical image stabilization. To get the perfect shot every time, the Lumia 1520 also features powerful zooming and oversampling technology that lets you reframe the image after you've snapped your photo. Also, with Nokia Refocus you can shoot first and focus later," adds the press release.
Moreover, both Microsoft and AT&T are trying to sweeten the deal when it comes to the new Nokia Lumia 1520. If you order the device through Microsoft's online store, you'll also get $70 worth of app store credit, a copy of Halo: Spartan Assault and a flip cover. Meanwhile, purchasing the Lumia 1520 from AT&T will give you $20 worth of credit, 50GB of cloud storage, as well as the aforementioned game. The super-sized smartphone is available in Matte Black, Matte White, Matte Yellow, or Glossy Red.
