The 16GB Nexus 7 (2013) is now available for just $179.99 from Office Depot, considerably less than its normal $229.99 price tag.
With the holidays just around the corner, various companies are making efforts to offer attractive deals for popular devices. When it comes to tablets, one of the hottest slates to launch in 2013 is the new Nexus 7 from Google and ASUS.
The new Nexus 7 sports notable improvements over its predecessor, sporting high-end specs and features and an affordable price tag. Moreover, the tablet offers the much-touted Nexus experience, which guarantees timely updates each time a new version of Android comes out.
If a new tablet is on your wish list this holiday season, Office Depot has an attractive deal. Until Dec. 21, the retailer is offering the Google Nexus 7 (2013) for $179.99, a hefty discount off the $229 regular price for the device. The offer stands for the 16GB black version of the Nexus 7 (2013).
As a reminder, the second-generation Nexus 7 has a 7-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a pixel density of 323 pixels per inch (ppi) and Gorilla Glass protection to make it scratch-resistant. The tablet packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor clocked at 1.5GHz, Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Other specs of the Nexus 7 (2013) include 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 5-megapixel rear camera with auto-focus, as well as a 1.2-megapixel front camera. The tablet ships with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean but is upgradeable to the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat via OTA. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, microUSB, and a Slimport for HDMI output.
The Nexus 7 (2013) also comes with wireless charging support out of the box, and boasts stereo speakers with surround sound and Frauhofer audio technology. A large 3,950 mAh non-removable battery provides up to 10 hours of web browsing and up to 9 hours of video playback.
The 16GB Nexus 7 in black is now available for $179.99 from Office Depot retail stores or online store, but remember that this offer expires on Dec. 21.
