Just in time for the holidays, Amazon is now offering the Verizon Moto X for just $0.01 with a new two-year contract.
The Moto X is Motorola's first smartphone since Google acquired the company and it comes with some neat exclusive features, not to mention its unique customization options and functionality.
When Motorola launched the Moto X, however, many felt that the smartphone's price tag was too steep for the mid-range specifications it offered. The Moto X is a great smartphone, but it does not match the high-end specs and performance of other flagship smartphones.
The Moto X saw heavy discounts lately that made it very appealing to consumers, and the smartphone basically vanished in no time under Motorola's recent promotions. Now Amazon has a special deal in store for the Verizon version of the smartphone, offering the device for just one penny when signing a new two-year contract with the carrier.
As a reminder, the Moto X sports a 4.7-inch HD AMOLED display with a 1,280 x 720 pixel resolution. The smartphone packs a 1.7GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Motorola's X8 computing system, coupled with Adreno 320 graphics and 2GB of RAM.
Other specs include a 10-megapixel Clear Pixel rear camera with auto focus, LED flash, and the ability to record video in full HD 1080p resolution. The smartphone also features a 2-megapixel front shooter, also capable of capturing 1080p video. In terms of connectivity, the Moto X supports 4G LTE, dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0 with Bluetooth LE and EDR. The Moto X also packs a large 2,200 mAh battery that provides up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 10 days of standby time.
While it may not be the highest-end smartphone on the market, the Moto X is definitely unique and this incredibly low price tag is bound to attract plenty of interested buyers. To get the Verizon Moto X for just $0.01 with a new two-year contract, head over to Amazon's website. As usual, the retailer is also throwing in free two-day shipping with the order. The smartphone appears as in stock and ready to ship at the time of writing.
