The new Sony Xperia Z1S is now available from T-Mobile for $0 down, followed by 24 equal monthly installments of $22.
Sony has officially taken the wraps off its new Xperia Z1S last week at the CES 2014 trade show. The smartphone is a T-Mobile exclusive in the U.S. and will hit the carrier's retail stores on Jan. 22, but it is already available from T-Mobile's online store.
Sony Xperia Z1S Specs
The Xperia Z1S is a slightly enhanced version of the Sony Xperia Z1, which didn't make it to the U.S. The Z1S brings slight improvements and boasts premium materials such as aluminum and glass for a high-end design. Moreover, the new T-Mobile Sony Xperia Z1S also promises to be durable, sporting IP55 certification for dust-resistance and IP58 waterproof rating, which allows the smartphone to withstand being submerged in up to 3.9 feet of water for up to half an hour.
In terms of specifications, the Xperia Z1S features a 5-inch Triluminos display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, packs a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2GB of RAM, and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone further comes with 32GB of internal storage capacity, as well as a microSD card slot for additional memory of up to 64GB.
The handset boasts a high-end 20.7-megapixel rear camera that works both on land and underwater and uses Sony's much-touted G Lens and intelligent BIONZ for mobile image processing engine. A 2-megapixel front-facing camera, meanwhile, will allow for video chats and self-shots. The Xperia Z1S also comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, GPS, NFC, and Bluetooth 4.0. A large 3,000 mAh non-removable battery will keep things up and running, providing up to 15 hours of talk time and about 600 hours of standby time.
Price
If you're interested in the new Sony Xperia Z1S, you can now order the smartphone from T-Mobile's online store for $0 down, followed by 24 equal monthly installments of $22, or the full retail price of $528. As previously mentioned, the T-Mobile Xperia Z1S is only available online for now, but it will hit retail stores on Jan. 22.
