'Game Of Thrones' Season 7 Cast, Spoilers: Joe Dempsie Returns As Gendry; Actor Spotted In Northern Ireland
Vivian E.It looks like another fan favorite character will return in HBO's "Game of Thrones" season 7. Rumors are rife that Gendry Baratheon will return to the hit fantasy series after actor Joe Dempsie was seen in Northern Ireland.
Dempsie, 29, was spotted getting off a plane in the Northern Ireland capital by a "Game of Thrones" fan, as per Watchers On The Wall. The website stated that the English actor has no other projects at the moment that would require him in the city.
It apparently sparks speculations that Gendry Baratheon might be making his comeback to "Game of Thrones" season 7. After all, Belfast has served as a home base for "Game of Thrones" throughout the years.
Gendry, the unacknowledged bastard son of King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy), was last seen in the final episode of "Game of Thrones" season 3. After escaping from the Island of Dragonstone with the assistance from Ser Davos Seaworth (Liam Cunningham), Gendry's current status remains obscure.
It is believed that the bastard Gendry will one day attempt to resuscitate House Baratheon. After all, the unacknowledged bastard is the only known man in Westeros with Baratheon blood inside him.
In its report, RadioTimes predicted Gendry could turn out to be either a powerful player or an import bargaining chip in "Game of Thrones" season 7. He could attempt to go ahead with Queen Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) for the iron throne or perhaps block Daenerys Targaryen's (Emilia Clarke) plan to reclaim her family's throne.
However, it is worth nothing that nothing is officially set in stone yet. Nonetheless, in a previous interview with Entertainment Weekly, Emilia Clarke teased that Daenerys would go up against Queen Cersei in "Game of Thrones" season 7.
"Basically, I've got ships, I've got manpower, I've got dragons that breathe fire," Clarke calculated. "And I apparently cannot be killed. I don't even have an attractive man who wants to take his shirt off anywhere near me now, so there are no distractions."
