‘The Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 News: Nina Dobrev Returns To Save Declining Ratings Despite Appearance On ‘Workaholics’?

Many believe that "The Vampire Diaries" can't just simply end without her.
Recent rumors suggested that the actress will have a comeback on the show, but this time, she might be the series' decisive villain and might be the one to kill Stefan (Paul Wesley) or Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
Reports say that series creator Julie Plec has been doing all his best to convince the actress to return for the season's finale. Rumors are rife that Dobrev has been swayed and has decided to have a cameo to save the show's declining ratings.
Other reports stated that Season 8 will have a very special ending that will feature Elena Gilbert and Damon Salvatore's destiny. We might be seeing the two reuniting for one last time.
Her return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 is one of the most awaited comebacks on the television. As a matter of fact the show has observed significant drop in the ratings after Dobrev left a few seasons back.
Meanwhile, according to Celebrity Laundry, "Julie Plec's dream that Nina Dobrev would return for the final season of 'The Vampire Diaries' has been shattered." The actress is joining the cast of "Comedy Central's Workaholic"s in Season 7.
Dobrev, lately posted a video on her Instagram indicating that she would be a part of the comedy series.
"No coffee? No problem. I'll help wake you up. Or stop your heart. It's a 50/50 chance @AdamDevine #WORKAHOLICS #NeverTooEarlyForAGoodScare," she captioned.
Some rumors suggest that Dobrev cancelled her commitment to Plec to take part in "Workaholics;" however other reports state that though she will have her appearance on the comedy series, she will still reprise her role on "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8.
