Will 'For Honor' Single-Player Campaign Require Internet Connection? Disclaimer Spotted On Box Art
J RoseUbisoft's upcoming video game "For Honor" will require an Internet connection, according to a disclaimer on its box art.
As reported by Power Up Gaming, the box art for "For Honor" was spotted on its recently updated Amazon listing, and it clearly says "Internet Connection Required" at the front of the package.
The main draw of "For Honor" will be its massive multiplayer campaigns, which was said to be well received by those who have participated in its beta testing.
The upcoming game, which will feature an unlikely clash between Vikings, Knights and Samurai, features an impressive looking multiplayer gameplay, which has drawn a lot of attention from gamers and critics alike.
The question, however, is this: what would it mean for "For Honor"'s single player campaign?
In an interview with Gamespot last September, "For Honor" creative director Jason VandenBerghe said that fans should expect a lot of great things from the single-player campaign.
"It's a full story campaign, a cinematic adventure where you will play as the knights first as the Warden, then you play as the Raider, then you play as the Orochi..." VandenBerghe said. "You'll play all through three different regions; the knights' homeland, the viking homeland, and the samurai homeland. You'll go on this great adventure..."
"We built the campaign so that if you bought the game just for that, that you would be satisfied even if you never went online and played multiplayer. It's intended to be a full experience," the director added.
Note that the director mentioned that players will still be able to enjoy even if they have never gone online, which implies that the single player campaign is indeed an offline mode. However, the prominently placed disclaimer sent warning bells ringing for those who are interested in the game.
We will find out when "For Honor" launches on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on Valentines Day 2017. Interested players can sign up for beta here.
