'Battlefield 1' New Features: Planning To Add World War I Server; Considering Three New Settings
Ralphy Bonn Sim"Battlefield 1" developer DICE has outlined the features it might add to the World War I shooter's rent-a-server feature in the future. The developer recorded these off in a blog post, initiating with a separate admin control panel that players can use to kick or ban players and form VIP lists.
The "Kick or Ban" mode will show a list of all players on a server; from there the players has the option to take action against them. Once a player is banned, they will put into a list of banned players, and you can choose to lift it later.
The "Very Important Person" (VIP) list is a lineup of players who will achieve priorities whenever there is a server on queue that is available. DICE provided an illustration that any players can create and run a clan which they can pitch members in for the server cost, players can also designate their members as VIPs.
DICE is also planning about password-protected servers with their new upcoming features. This makes servers unranked, so players can't receive any experience or progression, though all equipment is available.
DICE is considering running some new settings on its rent a server which includes; "Squad Leader Spawn Only" a popular setting from previous titles, "Behemoth On/Off toggle" for admins where they can turn off the Behemoth from spawning on their servers, and "Whole Magazine Reload" where admins can have access to turn on or off on the servers.
"In an effort to address this, we are looking into giving all rented servers priority in the server browser. This means that rented servers will always be displayed at the top of the server browser," stated DICE.
The developer further said it's considering to upgrade "Battlefield 1" server browser. They recently released some concept art for the game's first expansion subtitled "They Shall Not Pass," which comes out in March 2017.
