'The Walking Dead' Season 7 Episode 9 Spoilers & Updates: Showrunner Talks About Second Half Of The Season -- And It Will All About Fighting Back

Fans of horror drama TV series were left craving for more as the midseason finale of "The Walking Dead" Season 7, titled "Hearts Still Beating," ended with a major cliffhanger. With the alternating between really tense, engaging drama and totally bizarre scenes, fans can't wait until the TV returns after its break.

It can be recalled that the midseason finale brought together all the disparate narrative threads from "The Walking Dead" Season 7. This wrapped up the first half of this season's storyline and prepared the viewers for the next chapter in Rick's war against Negan and the Saviors. The cast was brought back together with a shared purpose, as Rick and his group finally stand up to their enemies and fight back.

Scott Gimple, "The Walking Dead" boss, teased what fans can expect when the show returns for the second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 7. Speaking to ComicBook.com, Gimple promised, in comparison to the first eight episodes, that the last eight episodes will have a very different feel and will have more variety. He further said that the ending will be very different.

Rather than dealing with Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) oppression as the first half of Season 7 did, the second half of "The Walking Dead" Season 7 will tackle Rick's effort to take on the Saviors. Gimple even teased that the forces will appear to be assembling around Negan's The Saviors. It is time for Rick (Andrew Lincoln) to be introduced to King Ezekiel (Khary Payton). Rallying Alexandria, the Hilltop and the Kingdom, they will begin a march to war against the Saviors. This is a complete flip from his pitiful broken self, as introduced in the premiere.

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 returns February 12, 2017 on AMC in the US and on February 13 on Fox in the UK. Stay tuned here at Mobile & Apps for more updates.
