LG L90 budget Android KitKat smartphone to hit T-Mobile on April 23?
Alexandra BurlacuThe higher-end model of LG's new L Series III, the LG L90, is apparently headed to T-Mobile with a launch set for April 23.
This purported launch date is not official at this point, however, and it also remains unclear whether T-Mobile will simply get stock of the L90 on April 23 with a commercial availability later, or whether the phone will actually go on sale the same day.
The information comes from TMONews, which managed to obtain an alleged internal document from the magenta carrier's retail planning schedule. The document in question shows the LG L90 is set to join T-Mobile's network on April 23.
This is not the first time we hear that the LG L90 is headed to T-Mobile in the U.S., as well-known and trusted tipster @evleaks has previously posted a photo of the handset with T-Mobile branding back in late February. We still don't have any details on how much the smartphone will cost, but now we know when the LG L90 is expected to join T-Mobile's lineup.
As a reminder, the LG L90 is part of the company's new L Series III of budget-friendly smartphones and comes as the highest-end model in the lineup. The handset comes with a 4.7-inch IPS display with a qHD resolution of 720p, and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz under the hood, paired with 1GB of RAM.
Although it is a mid-range offering, the LG L90 does come with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box and boasts popular LG features, including Knock Code, Guest Mode, QuickMemo, Plug & Pop, QSlide 2.5, and more. Other specs include an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 2,540 mAh battery, which should provide decent performance.
Considering that the LG L90 is part of the entry-level to mid-range category, the handset is expected to sport an affordable price tag when it joins T-Mobile's lineup. The LG L90 should be available for $0 down and reasonable subsequent monthly charges, aiming to attract budget-conscious shoppers.
If TMONews' information proves to be accurate, we should hear more about the LG L90 launch on T-Mobile soon enough. We'll keep an eye out and bring you the latest pricing and availability details as soon as they become available.
