Microsoft is now offering a new "Geek" bundle, which consists of its Surface Pro 2 tablet and an Xbox Wireless Controller for Windows.

Starting at $889, this Geek bundle allows for savings of $104 compared to the total cost of purchasing the two devices separately. In addition to the Surface 2 tablet and the Xbox Wireless controller for Windows, which will allow users to enjoy games on their new slate, Microsoft is also throwing in two free downloadable PC games to get things going.

"PC gamers rejoice - this Surface bundle is for you. Get a Surface Pro 2 and an Xbox Wireless Controller for Windows. As an added bonus, we've partnered with Geek & Sundry to include two free downloadable PC games - War Thunder Mustang Advanced Pack and Farming Simulator 2013," Microsoft touts on the product page for this new bundle.

"The Surface Pro 2 Geek & Sundry bundle celebrates the awesome gaming experience on Surface Pro 2 - and the new G&S Unplugged web series featuring Surface," adds the company.

As a reminder, the Surface Pro 2 is the higher-end model of Microsoft's second-generation Surface tablets, and runs the full-fledged version of Windows. The slate sports a 10.6-inch ClearType full HD display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 10-point multi-touch and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the Surface Pro 2 packs a powerful fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor.

The tablet comes in several options when it comes to storage and system memory: the 64GB and 128GB models come with 4GB of RAM, while the higher-capacity 256GB and 512GB models come with a heftier 8GB of RAM.

In terms of features and connectivity, the Surface Pro 2 also has a microSD card slot for additional memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, USB 3.0, mini DisplayPort, and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

Microsoft notes that its new Geek bundle offering the Surface Pro 2, the Xbox Wireless Controller for Windows, and the two downloadable PC games will only be available for a limited time, but doesn't mention when the offer will expire. This limited-availability bundle that starts at $889 is available exclusively through Microsoft's online store.
