Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom leaks continue with AnTuTu Benchmark, detailed specs
Alexandra BurlacuThe Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom is not official yet, but the camera-centric smartphone has already leaked online with a photo, specs and benchmarks.
Samsung recently launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S5, and is expected to continue its strategy of releasing various spinoffs of the original flagship. Last year we saw Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active, and Galaxy S4 Zoom variations of the flagship, and this year Samsung will reportedly pull a similar scheme with its new Galaxy S5, although it may not make much sense now. The new flagship is already dust- and water-resistant, which would eliminate the need for a rugged 'Active' version, and alredy has a higher-end camera, cutting into the appeal of a 'Zoom' variant.
Either way, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom is rumored to be in the works, set to debut in a few weeks. While Samsung has made no announcement so far, the handset has recently leaked in an image as the "Galaxy K Zoom," and now we have some alleged AnTuTu benchmark results, as well as leaked specifications for the purported handset.
The new information comes from an exclusive SamMobile report, offering more details about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom.
"This year we weren't expecting Samsung to release a Zoom variant of its latest flagship device, the Galaxy S5, because the device already has a spectacular camera, with excellent image quality and software features," notes SamMobile. "However, it looks like Samsung already has the Zoom variant in the pipeline and is planning to release it soon. Today, thanks to our elite friends, we can confirm some of the device's specifications, plus show you how the device performs in Antutu Benchmark."
Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom Specs
According to the publication, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will come with a 4.8-inch 720p display, and a six-core Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa (5260) chipset with ARM's big.LITTLE architecture. The SoC consists of two Cortex-A15 cores clocked at 1.7GHz and four Cortex-A7 cores clocked at 1.3GHz. Other purported specs include 2GB of RAM, a 20-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and 10x optical zoom, a 2-megapixel front shooter, and a microSD card slot for additional memory. On the software side, the smartphone is expected to ship with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom AnTuTu Benchmark Scores
When it comes to the AnTuTu Benchmark test, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom reportedly scored 33,252 points, outperforming the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One (2013).
No additional information is currently available about this purported device, but we'll keep you up to date as soon as we hear more about the Galaxy S5 Zoom. In the meantime, take all leaks and speculation with a grain of salt.
