Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specs leak, suggest 2K or even 4K display
Alexandra BurlacuSamsung's next-generation Galaxy Note 4 flagship phablet has leaked online with some impressive specifications, including a higher-end display with an impressive resolution.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is still pretty fresh and the Galaxy S5 flagship smartphone is about to hit retail in a few days, on April 11, but the rumor mill is already churning about future products.
The next iteration of the company's high-end Note series of handsets, the Galaxy Note 4, has already started to leak online. The latest rumor claims that the phablet would boast a higher-end display with a sharper resolution than that of the new Galaxy S5.
According to a report from Chinese blog CNMO, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could launch as the company's first handset to boast a 2K display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The Galaxy S5 was also rumored to debut with a higher-resolution display, but it launched with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels instead. The publication further notes that the Galaxy Note 4 could even boast an Ultra HD 4K resolution of 3,480 x 2,160 pixels, however this sounds rather unlikely for now.
Other rumored Galaxy Note 4 specs include a Samsung Exynos hexa-core processor or a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, paired with a hefty 4GB of RAM. The phablet is also expected to be both dust- and water-resistant, just like the Samsung Galaxy S5.
In the camera department, the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will reportedly rock a 20.7-megapixel rear shooter with 4K video recording capabilities and optical image stabilization (OIS). CNMO further claims that the upcoming phablet could also feature a larger battery with a capacity of 3,600 - 3,800 mAh.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 could come with an Android 4.5 version on board and pack 128GB of internal storage capacity. In terms of connectivity, it should include 4G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, and all the latest tech, and feature handwriting-recognition technology for unlocking the device.
As Slashear points out, the early release of the Samsung Galaxy S5 makes it harder to estimate a launch timeline for the Galaxy Note 4. Samsung could unveil it in September at this year's IFA trade show, which takes place in Berlin, or it could choose to hold a separate event sooner. Either way, it's all just speculation at this point, so treat this rumor accordingly.
