Sony Xperia Z2 launches across Europe – Pricing and availability for six countries
Alexandra BurlacuSony's latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z2 powerhouse, is now available for purchase in several European countries through the Sony Mobile Store.
The Sony Xperia Z2 is an impressive smartphone with top-of-the-line specs and features and is considered one of the most powerful handsets of this year. Announced back at the Mobile World Congress, the smartphone is just now making its way to more markets, as it has faced some hurdles at launch.
At first, Sony said that its Xperia Z2 will launch in Europe at the beginning of April, but the company eventually acknowledged that it was having some stock issues. The whole situation became obvious when Sony pulled pre-orders for the handset, and the company admitted that it was overwhelmed by "particularly strong demand."
Sony seems to have fixed at least some of its launch issues for the Xperia Z2 and the handset is now more widely available in Europe, including the UK and several other countries.
Sony Xperia Z2 price & availability across Europe
The Sony Xperia Z2 pricing and availability varies depending on market, as expected. The smartphone costs €679 in Germany, €699 in France and Italy, SEK 5,995 in Sweden, and PLN 2,799 in Poland, available from the countries' respective Sony Mobile Stores. Interested buyers in the UK, meanwhile, can buy the Sony Xperia Z2 from Sony Mobile for £599.
It's worth pointing out, however, that the black version of the Sony Xperia Z2 seems to be currently out of stock in some of these countries, including Italy, Poland, and the UK, the Xperia Blog notes. More stock is expected in the coming weeks, so the black edition will likely become available again shortly.
Interested buyers in the U.S., meanwhile, still have no good news in regards to Sony's latest flagship. The Sony Xperia Z2 will not be hitting U.S. shores until later in July, which may be too late for many. While the smartphone has drawn plenty of interest, many potential buyers will likely be turned off by this delay and ultimately choose to go for another handset. Loyal Sony fans will surely wait even if it is until July, but will they be enough?
