LG G3 appears in brushed metal gold ahead of May 27 debut
Alexandra BurlacuThe much-rumored LG G3 poses again for the camera ahead of its debut on May 27, this time appearing in a brushed metal gold color option.
The LG G3 is one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year and is expected to launch later this month as the company's flagship smartphone for 2014. The handset is rumored to be a real beast with top-of-the-line specs and features, including a QHD display with a whopping resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.
LG has already sent out invitations for a big event scheduled for May 27 - 28 in six cities worldwide, where the company is widely expected to unveil its next powerhouse, but the LG G3 keeps leaking ahead of its big debut.
The latest leak allegedly shows the smartphone in one of the most popular color options for smartphones, not just the standard paint jobs. The folks over at GSM Arena claim to have obtained a couple of photos of the LG G3 in a gold color option.
The LG G3 seems to be sporting the same rear key concept as its predecessor, the LG G2, placing the volume rocker and power button on the back of the device for easier one-handed use. The newly-leaked images do, however, show a flatter design. The photos also show a brushed metal gold look, which would help LG better compete against notable rivals such as the copper Samsung Galaxy S5, the Rose Gold HTC One, and the Champagne Gold iPhone 5S, which started all this trend to begin with.
The device shown in these images is most likely a demo unit designed for testing hardware, as the photos show "NOT FOR SALE" and "16 UPP" labels.
When it comes to specifications, the LG G3 is expected to come rocking a 5.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 and a pixel density of 534 pixels per inch (ppi), a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor under the hood, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone is also rumored to be both dust- and waterproof for extra durability.
Of all of the aforementioned specifications, however, LG has only confirmed that its next flagship smartphone will have a QHD display. The other specs are based solely on rumors and leaks, but we'll soon know all about it straight from the source, as May 27 is just around the corner.
