HTC One M8 spotted in Red and Aqua Blue color options
Alexandra BurlacuHTC's latest flagship smartphone, the top-end One M8, has popped up online in two new color options, sporting red and blue paint jobs.
The HTC One M8 is currently available in Gunmetal Gray, Silver, and Gold color options, but if these new leaks turn out to be the real deal, HTC fans may have more options soon.
The red version of the HTC One M8 is apparently coming from China, as Chinese publication Mobile01 has posted several images of the smartphone in a beautiful red coating. The shade of red seen in these renders falls in line with previous leaks and shows the stylish metallic sheen of the HTC One M8.
The blue model of the smartphone, meanwhile, comes from UK website MobileFun, which lists an Aqua Blue HTC One M8 as available for pre-order. MobileFun doesn't mention any shipping date for this variant, but it does list quite a whopping price tag.
The SIM-free HTC One M8 in this purported Aqua Blue color option appears with a steep €668.99 price tag on Mobile Fun's website, which would translate to roughly $918. Considering that the unlocked version of the HTC One M8 in the U.S. costs $649, the Google Play Edition costs $699, and the full retail price of the Verizon model is $639, Mobile Fun's asking price for the Aqua Blue HTC One M8 is quite outrageous.
On the other hand, neither of these two variants are official yet. HTC has yet to announce plans to launch its latest HTC One M8 in new color options, and these purported red and blue variants of the smartphone are definitely not available in the U.S. at this point.
The HTC One M8 is one of the hottest, highest-end smartphones currently available on the market and its popularity is growing day by day, and it would make sense for the company to offer more color options in the future to suit more tastes and preferences. HTC may also opt to release carrier-exclusive color options for the HTC One M8, but nothing is confirmed at this point.
For now, interested buyers in the U.S. can purchase the HTC One M8 powerhouse in the three official color options - Gunmetal Gray, Silver, or Gold.
