Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 leaks in Gold avatar, should launch soon
Alexandra BurlacuThe Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the hottest devices currently available on the market and the gold model is apparently headed to Verizon.
Ever since Apple launched its iPhone 5S in a champagne gold color option, gold has become the must-have color for high-end flagships. It proved to be the most popular choice among consumers and the Copper Gold Samsung Galaxy S5 is shaping up to be in high demand.
If you're looking to buy a Gold Samsung Galaxy S5 later this month and Verizon is your carrier of choice, you might be in luck, as the golden-hued smartphone is reportedly set to join Big Red's lineup soon.
The news comes from well-known and trusted tipster @evleaks, who has proved to be accurate countless times in the past when it comes to leaking yet-to-be-announced devices or plans in the tech world.
As you can see in the image above, posted by @evleaks, the Verizon version of the Gold Samsung Galaxy S5 replaces Samsung's logo on the back of the device with the carrier's own branding. The Galaxy S5 branding at the bottom is new as well, just so there's no doubt about what golden smartphone you're carrying.
Other than these minor changes in appearance, this model of the Samsung Galaxy S5 is expected to be exactly the same as the standard version. That means the same 5.1-inch full HD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, 16-megapixel rear camera, dust- and water-resistance, LTE, and more.
Currently no pricing details have surfaced for this version, but it is expected to be available at the same price as the standard model.
T-Mobile has already announced that it will be launching the gold Samsung Galaxy S5 on its network next week, on May 30, and it would make sense for Verizon to join the party soon as well.
Neither Samsung nor Verizon have confirmed this so far, but we should hear more about it soon enough. If @evleaks proves to be right, we'll see the Samsung Galaxy S5 rocking a Copper Gold avatar on Verizon's network in the near future. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
