Father’s Day promotional discounts continue: T-Mobile slashes $100 off select tablets
Alexandra BurlacuWith Father's Day just around the corner, T-Mobile joins the discount party by slashing $100 off select tablets to attract more buyers.
The Uncarrier wants to make it more affordable to celebrate Father's Day or Grad Day buy purchasing a new tablet, so it is shaving $100 off the normal price of popular slates. The deal will be available until June 15 and applies to select tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3, the iPad Air, and the iPad Mini with Retina Display.
All four of the aforementioned tablets are available for free with two-year contracts, which means that customers interested in T-Mobile's new offer will basically get an off-contract discount of $100.
In addition to these Father's Day and Grad Day tablet deals, T-Mobile has also announced that it will add the Alcatel One Touch Pop 7 tablet to its lineup starting on June 18. The "incredibly affordable" Alcatel One Touch Pop 7, as T-Mobile touts it, will be available for just $168, launching as one of the most affordable Android tablets on the market.
"We've more than quadrupled our tablet line-up over the last year, and we're just getting started," said T-Mobile Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Mike Sievert. "Go to any of the old carriers, and you could pay more for your tablet or get stuck with long-term service contracts and overages. Only T-Mobile gives you a selection of the latest iOS and Android tablets with no annual service contract, no limits while on our network, no overages, with the world as your network in 100+ countries at no extra cost - and 200 MB of free data for life."
T-Mobile's announcement regarding its new Father's Day promotional sale comes after Verizon announced similar discounts. Ahead of Father's Day, Big Red is slashing $100 off any smartphone priced at $199.99 or higher, including the new HTC One M8 for which it has snagged the exclusive Glamour Red and Amber Gold color options.
Other carriers are expected to announce similar deals to boost device sales, so stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.
