Samsung Galaxy Tab S UK pre-orders now live: Pricing & Availability
Alexandra BurlacuThe newly-unveiled Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets have already gone up for pre-order in the UK, appearing with a starting price of £330.
Samsung recently held its Galaxy Premiere 2014 event where it took the wraps off the much-rumored Galaxy Tab S, its very first tablets with Super AMOLED displays.
The new Galaxy Tab S lineup consists of two models, one with an 8.4-inch screen and the other with a larger 10.5-inch display. Aside from the difference in screen size, the two devices share the same high-end specifications and features.
The two Galaxy Tab S slates are expected to hit commercial availability next month in most regions where they are set to launch, but several retailers across the world have already jumped the gun and started taking pre-orders for the devices.
The UK is one of those regions in which pre-orders are already available, as Curry PC World is listing both models of the Galaxy Tab S. The 8.4-inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S is now up for pre-order at PC World with a £329.99 price tag, while the larger Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is listed with a £419.99 price tag.
In terms of availability, the retailer lists both models with a July 4 shipping date. The Galaxy Tablets are expected to hit store shelves the next day, July 5. The two slates have also gone up for pre-order in the U.S. and Canada, with shipping dates set for later this month.
For those unfamiliar with the devices, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S tablets boast Super AMOLED displays with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and pack an octa-core Samsung Exynos 5 Octa chipset under the hood, paired with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 128GB, an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash, and a 2.1-megapixel front shooter.
The 8.4-inch model has a 4,900 mAh battery, while the 10.5-inch version has a bigger 7,900 mAh unit. Both models run Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box, with Samsung's Magazine UI on top for extra convenience and productivity.
