Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch confirmed for Sept. 3 at Pre-IFA Unpacked event
Alexandra BurlacuThe Samsung Galaxy Note 4 unveiling on Sept. 3 is as good as officially confirmed, as the company has just posted a "Note the Date" teaser.
Just a few days back, news surfaced that Samsung had already started to send out invitations for its upcoming Unpacked event on Sept. 3. While the general belief was that the Galaxy Note 4 would be the star of the event, no confirmation was available up until now.
Samsung has now confirmed that the next-generation Galaxy Note flagship phablet will indeed make its debut on Sept.3. The company has just posted an exciting image on its press website on Wednesday, Aug. 6, teasing the upcoming event.
As you can see above, the image in question illustrates the menu designed specifically for the Note's popular S Pen stylus, along with the words "Note the Date." In other words, Samsung did not explicitly say that it will announce the Galaxy Note 4 at the event, but the new teaser leaves little room for interpretation.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is one of the most highly anticipated devices of this year and is expected to come with top-notch specs and features all around. The next-generation flagship phablet from Samsung should boast notable improvements over its predecessor, as well as the Galaxy S5 smartphone.
Based on leaks and rumors so far, one Galaxy Note 4 variant will pack Samsung's latest Exynos ModAP SoC under the hood, while another model will come with a powerful quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. The two versions are designed for specific markets, but they are both expected to support 4G LTE. Rumors also indicated that another variant may sport a curved OLED display and could launch as a limited-edition device like the Galaxy Round, but it remains unconfirmed at this point.
Other rumored specifications for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 powerhouse include a QHD AMOLED display with a high resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, marking Samsung's entry in the 2K smartphone arena. Considering that the current Galaxy Note 3 already comes with 3GB of RAM, its successor should at least match it, if not top it with 4GB of RAM. The Galaxy Note 4 is further rumored to pack 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory, and a 16-megapixel rear camera. Some rumors also indicated that a higher-capacity model with 128GB of internal storage capacity could be in the cards as well, sporting a large 3,800 mAh battery.
The specs and features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4 remain in the rumor state for now, but its launch on Sept. 3 is a given. Samsung will hold its Unpacked event in three cities simultaneously - Berlin (global), Beijing, and New York, and will live stream everything on its official YouTube channel.
