The latest-generation iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are finally ready to hit China, going up for pre-order on Oct. 10 and hitting commercial availability on Oct. 17.

China is the world's largest smartphone market, but so far the latest iPhones' launch in the country has suffered delays. Apple had to undergo some rigorous regulatory scrutiny and reassure the Chinese government that its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus don't have security "backdoors" that would allow U.S. agencies to access users' data.

Moreover, Apple also had to offer reassurance in regards to risks of personal information leaks associated with iOS diagnostic tools. Nevertheless, the company seems to have overcome all hurdles and the new iPhones will finally make their debut in China next month.

Apple released its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on Sept. 19 in the U.S. and other parts of the world, so far no exact launch date was available for China. Ever since the whole Edward Snowden NSA debacle last year, which revealed spying and surveillance campaigns from the U.S.'s part, American tech companies including Apple have faced more severe scrutiny in China.

Back in July, the Chinese state media even accused Apple of using its devices to provide user data to U.S. agencies. Apple has denied such allegations and publicly reiterated that its devices don't offer such backdoors, but the new iPhones' launch was apparently affected nonetheless.

Gaining regulatory approval in China means that Apple will finally be able to release its new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the world's largest smartphone market. Analysts expect the two smartphones to see great success in the country, as many consumers in China prefer smartphones with larger displays.

The new-generation iPhones will launch on all three of China's state-owned wireless carriers - China Mobile Ltd, China Unicom Hong Kong Ltd, and China Telecom Corp Ltd - which together had more than 1.27 billion mobile subscribers in August.

"We are thrilled to bring iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to our customers in China on all three carriers at launch," Apple CEO Tim Cook boasts in a new press release on Tuesday, Sept. 30. "With support for TD-LTE and FDD-LTE, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus customers will have access to high-speed mobile networks from China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom for an incredible experience."
