Samsung Galaxy S6 rocks promising specs in AnTuTu benchmark listing
Alexandra BurlacuThe highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S6 has surfaced again, this time appearing in an AnTuTu benchmark listing with some of its key specifications.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is expected to be one of the hottest devices of 2015, despite the Galaxy S5's apparent flop. The Galaxy S5 failed to see the resounding success of its Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4 predecessors, selling significantly fewer units and causing mayhem within the company. Because the Galaxy S5 was not the success it should've been, Samsung is reportedly looking to come up with a top-notch Galaxy S6 to make up for it.
The purported Samsung Galaxy S6 has already starred in various rumors and reports so far, and now it's listed on the AnTuTu benchmarking database, which reveals some promising specifications for the device.
Chinese portal CNMO spotted the AnTuTu benchmark listing in question and posted a screenshot (via Phone Arena), which you can see in the image above. The device listed here comes with model number SM-G925F and appears to be the Exynos-powered version of the handset. Another variant is expected to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Rumors so far have indicated that the Galaxy S6 will rock the latest 64-bit Snapdragon 810, but recent whispers suggested that Qualcomm is having some issues with the chipset and may have to postpone mass production, which may in turn delay the launch of the smartphone. Another version of the smartphone, meanwhile, is expected to pack Samsung's own Exynos chip.
This AnTuTu benchmark listing now shows the device with a 64-bit Exynos 7420 SoC, paired with ARM Mali-T760 graphics and 3GB of RAM. Other listed specs include a 5.5-inch QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 32GB of internal storage capacity, a 20-megapixel rear camera, and a selfie-friendly 5-megapixel front shooter. On the software side, the handset will run the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
The specifications listed in this AnTuTu benchmark fall in line with previously-rumored specs for the Galaxy S6, but that doesn't necessarily guarantee their accuracy.
Without any official word from Samsung or any palpable evidence, it all remains in the rumor state at this point. As always in such cases, take everything with a grain of salt.
