Samsung Galaxy Note Edge officially launches in UK as Vodafone exclusive
Alexandra BurlacuThe Samsung Galaxy Note Edge curved-display phablet has officially made its debut in the UK, landing exclusively on carrier Vodafone.
For the time being, Vodafone is the only carrier to sell the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge in the country, as it scored temporary exclusivity until January next year.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge made its debut back in early September alongside the flagship Galaxy Note 4, stirring lots of interest worldwide. Sporting top-notch specs and features all around and an intriguing curved display, the device was initially expected to have a very limited release. Nevertheless, Samsung started to make its Galaxy Note Edge available in more select markets, and the UK is one of them.
"Samsung has always been pushing the limits of what we can do with phone screens. It was one of the first manufacturers to really get behind big phone displays, and isn't shy about showing off future concepts. And that innovative attitude to screens is exactly the thinking behind company's latest handset: the Galaxy Note Edge," Vodafone UK touted in a company blog post on Friday, Dec. 12.
"At Vodafone we're really excited to be the only network operator stocking the Galaxy Note Edge, which is available today and features a curved glass display that swoops round one side of the phone."
The uniquely-curved "Edge" screen of the Galaxy Note Edge allows users to access information and operate their smartphone in an intriguing new manner. This screen offers quick access to frequently used apps, alerts, as well as programme control functionality with the swipe of a thumb, even when the cover is closed. The Edge screen will also deliver real-time notifications without interrupting what the user is doing on the main screen.
Vodafone UK is now offering the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge on a variety of plans with different prices. More precisely, users interested in the Galaxy Note Edge on Vodafone can choose from as many as 22 different plans, with the cost depending on the package. The lowest option seems to be pegged at £49, while the highest goes up to £479.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is definitely not a cheap device, but it's a real powerhouse under the hood and its "Edge" screen promises unique functionality. To learn more about the device or to purchase the Galaxy Note Edge from Vodafone UK, head over to the carrier's product page at this link.
