HTC One E9+ officially listed with 2K display on company’s Chinese website
Alexandra BurlacuA new HTC One E9+ phablet quietly made its way to the company's Chinese website, complete with details on its specs and features.
For a while now, the rumor mill has been churning in anticipation of a new HTC One E9, believed to arrive as the plastic variant of the recently-unveiled HTC One M9 flagship. HTC has offered no official details just yet, but a new HTC One E9+ has now popped up on the company's official Chinese website, boasting top-notch specs and features all around.
As spotted by Engadget China, the HTC One E9+ now listed on HTC's Chinese website sports a 5.5-inch QHD (2K) display with an impressive resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels at a pixel density of 534 pixels per inch (ppi), which translates to the sharpest screen yet on an HTC smartphone.
In terms of appearance, the new HTC One E9+ retains the highly-acclaimed design of the HTC One series, but it now boasts a sleek metal frame that makes it look more premium compared to the all-plastic HTC One E8 launched last year.
Under the hood, the device will pack a MediaTek MT6795M octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz, paired with 3GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD card support for additional memory of up to 128GB, dual-SIM support, a 20-megapixel rear camera, and an UltraPixel front shooter. Moreover, the device also comes with the HTC EYE Experience pre-installed, offering enhanced editing tools and creative effects.
In an odd twist, however, the specifications drop down menu lists different specs compared to the product page. For instance, the specs menu lists a full HD 1080p resolution rather than 2K, 2GB of RAM instead of 3GB, and a 13-megapixel rear camera instead of a 20-megapixel shooter. These lower-end specifications may refer to the One E9 rather than the One E9+.
It remains unclear when the HTC One E9+ will make its official debut and how much it will cost when it hits retail, but more information is expected to become available shortly. It also remains to be seen which regions it will reach, as the phablet may launch with limited global availability. We'll keep you up to date as soon as we learn more, so stay tuned.
