Microsoft Surface 3 now on sale in the UK
Alexandra BurlacuMicrosoft's latest Surface 3 tablet has officially gone on sale in the UK just as promised, available now from the Microsoft Store and a few retailers.
The Microsoft Surface 3 comes with a £419 price tag for the 64GB model and goes up to £499 for the higher-capacity 128GB model, and those who order from the Microsoft Store will also benefit from free shipping in three to five business days. The 4G LTE version of the tablet, however, is listed as "coming soon" on the Microsoft Store.
As expected, Microsoft is also offering a bunch of accessories for its new Surface 3 slate, including a Surface 3 Type Cover and a Surface Pen stylus for £110 and £45, respectively.
The Surface 3 made its official debut back in late March, sporting a 10.8-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio, ClearType HD multi-touch display tech, pressure-sensitive stylus support, and a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, the slate packs a new quad-core Intel Atom x7 (Cherry Trail) processor, while the full-fledged Windows 8.1 rocks the software side. The tablet will also receive a free upgrade to the latest Windows 10 when the new OS is ready to roll out this summer.
The Surface 3 also comes with a three-position kickstand, a sleek magnesium case, and Dolby Audio for a superior audio experience.
"With the ability to run desktop software, a USB port, and an integrated Kickstand, Surface 3 is the perfect productivity device for school, home, and on the go. Includes Office 365 Personal," Microsoft touts on the Surface 3 product page.
"Surface 3 has the looks and performance to turn heads. With its 10.8-inch screen and thin, light frame, it's just the right size to slip under your arm or in your purse and take anywhere. Fancy a movie or some late-night gaming? With 10 hours of battery life, stellar sound, and an integrated Kickstand, Surface 3 is perfect for hands-free entertainment wherever you go."
