UK Mobile Operators Announce Tariffs for iPhone 6s and 6s Plus
Jonathan BenitoThe general release of Apple's newest iPhone addition on September 25 can't come soon enough as pre-orders flood various mobile operators shortly after the Apple event. The UK has also released its tariff on the new iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on Friday after US carriers have posted their own iPhone deals. Since Apple itself is offering payment plans on their new iPhone models, carriers are rushing to release their own line of iPhone bargains.
O2
In our previous article, O2 was the first to announce their intention of offering iPhone deals to their subscribers. On their site, there's already an option to pre-order the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on a 24 month contract. Their timeframe for delivery is the same as the general release on September 25. O2 is offering free upgrade after 12 months on their 30 GB plan along with a damage and breakdown cover for two years. This package along with a 16GB iPhone 6s will be priced at £59.00 per month and £9.99 up front. Their lowest offering of the basic iPhone 6s will be at £46.00 per month on the 3GB plan with at £29.99 fee upfront.
Vodafone
The pricing on Vodafone is different as it doesn't offer the free upgrade that most carriers, including the one offered by Apple, offer at the 12 month mark. The lowest bundle on the 24 month contract is at £39.00 per month at 1GB with a £109.00 charge upfront. The plan comes with the basic 4G services, iPhone 6s 16GB, 1000 minutes of calls and unlimited texts. What they do offer is a trade-in service that allows you to save £5 discount each month on your selected plan when you send back your old iphone 5, 5s, 6 or 6 plus. The phone has to be in good working condition.
Carriers will have a harder time keeping up iPhone sales when Apple is offering good payment terms for their phones that come with AppleCare+. Free upgrades on the 12 month mark is also a good option for those who want to get the new iPhone 7 set to be released exactly 12 months from the iPhone 6s debut. So far, the UK release of pre-ordered iPhones will also be on September 25.
