New information regarding the Huawei Nexus 6 are making rounds in various tech sites. With Google's upcoming event on September 29, two new Nexus phones will be unveiled side by side. Huawei and LG will introduce their own version of the Nexus 6 and so the question goes: which is better? Using the current rumored specs, here's what we found:
LG Nexus 5X
146.9mm x 72.9mm x 9.8mm
5.2 inches of full HD P-OLED touchscreen
Snapdragon 808 processor
Up to 64 GB internal storage with 3GB of DDR3 RAM
13 MP main camera; 4 MP front
USB Type C with QuickCharge 2.0
Huawei Nexus 6
159.4 x 78.3 x 6.6/8.5 mm
5.5 inches or 5.7 inches 2,560x1,440-pixel resolution
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or Snapdragon 810 CPU
32GB of internal storage with 3GB or RAM
13 MP main camera; 8 MP front
USB Type C, Front speakers, Fingerprint scanner on the rear.
Looking at the specs alone, it would seem that the Huawei Nexus 6 will be the high-end, bigger phone and the LG Nexus 5X would be the affordable and smaller version. The Google presentation of the Huawei model will give the company a chance to gain a foothold on the North American market and LG's cheaper, but packed with features, model to gain popularity elsewhere.
Huawei's recent unveiling of the Mate S clearly targets smartphone buyers with more to spend. The September 29 Google event will add legitimacy to Huawei's smartphone manufacturing prowess and finally step out of the negative image it has unwittingly cultivated as an iPhone copycat. Of course, the Chinese company has made great strides by dethroning Microsoft as the third largest smartphone manufacturer.
LG has also been recently succesful with its Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 models and is rumored to be on its way to releasing a Nexus 6 model soon. As one of the most succesful companies to make phones for Google, they enjoy a solid fan-base of loyal Android customers. The real answer as to which Nexus model is better would eventually prove itself shortly after the big reveal in September 29.
