Lenovo Unveils Vibe X3; And It Has Three Different Models
Mary Cris BalancioThe not so secret latest smartphone from Lenovo was finally launched in China this Monday Nov. 16. It comes in three different versions for users to choose from; the first two models have similar features while the third one has a slightly different component as it is made to have a lower price. The two versions could be referred to as the "ROM" model while the third one is the "Youth" model.
The new Lenovo Vibe X3 two higher end model runs with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chipset with 3GB RAM and an internal storage of either 32 GB or 64GB. It has a microSD slot for expansion. Both models are dual-SIM capable and can support 4G.
The ROM models have a 23MP primary camera that has a Sony IMX230 sensor and features like autofocus and 4K recording. The smartphone models also sport an 8MP front facing camera. It has a 3,600 mAh battery that is fast to top up due to having Qualcomm's QuickCharge 2.0 tech.
Meanwhile, the third model or the Youth model is slightly different form the two by having a different chipset. It can run at 1.3 GHz and has only 2GB RAM and a 16GB internal storage which can also be expandable. This model's rear camera is 16MP while its font facing or selfie camera is 5MP.
The battery has a noticeably smaller capacity at 3,400 mAh but it is said that the battery can be removed unlike the other two models. But that's where the difference ends as all three phones share the following features. All three models are made with a Gorilla Glass 3 protection and have a 5.5 inch display with FullHD resolution.
The three models have a Cirrus Logic WM8281 codec for noise and echo cancellation to handle input from the three mics, three Texas Instruments OPA1612 amplifiers, and a high-end Sabre 9018C2M DAC. All of the devices' backs have a Dolby Amos certification. They also feature a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.
For now Lenovo Vibe X3 is priced at ¥2,499 CNY or $390 USD for the ROM model 32GB version and ¥2,999 CNY or $470 USD for the 64GB version. The Youth version comes at a slightly lower price of ¥1,899 or $300 USD. As of today, there are no other announcements whether an international version of the Vibe X3 will make an appearance or if the three models will make it to the international scene.
