Tough, Sustainable, Solar Charger "SunStream" To Be Sold In South Africa

For smartphone users, being eco-friendly and/or saving on electricity can be a struggle. They have to worry no more, as one charger is said to be the solution to the said dilemma. Vodacom announced that they will now sell the new SunStream solar charger. SunStream is marketed as a breakthrough patented technology that is born out of necessity.

Few details have been released but based on the details, this particular charger has world panel solar chargers that do not need to use chipsets or printed circuit boards, a technology often used and is popular in the United States. The patent science behind this brilliant charger enables the panel of the charger to work without the said chipsets. By making it this way, the technology substantially extends their devices' life, lowers cost, and increases power output.

The charger is water submersible and can operate even under water. SunStream is made to take into account conditions that certain individuals are exposed to, like wet climates and/or require products to work when wet. SunStream not only meet this need, but is also the only technology to stream electricity underwater or while wet without failing.

It is made out of a shatterproof glass face making it tough enough to survive a 2 meter drop, a fact that was tested beforehand. It also has a polymer case which is UV stable. And due to its thermal characteristics, it can also maintain its coolness even in conditions of extreme heat. It is also compact and easy to fit in your pocket or bag.

SunStream charger has a USB output that enables it to charge any device that supports the standard 5-volt devices. Having this feature, it is safe to say that so far it would be the first technology to combine the international panel standards and the international USB standards.

SunStream is also sustainable as it will recapture all of the embedded energy that was used to make it and become a carbon offset; meaning it will leave a positive environmental impact once a user tries it. In a way, you can say that some of your eco-friendly requirements or fears are alleviated.

Vodacom will sell the said charger at a retail price of R199 ZAR in South Africa. As of the time of this writing, there are no other details or announcements regarding its other features, or availability internationally.
