Nextbit’s Robin Smartphone To Release GSM Versions Next Month

Nextbit has a cloud savvy phone, and it is expected to be launched by Feb 16. That's right, that would be next month for those who have supported it through their crowd funding campaign, especially their first 1000 backers. This special information has been revealed during the CES event by the company's chief designer itself, Scott Croyle.

The first handheld devices to be released will be the GSM variety. The CDMA models will be released later during this year. Although the release is a bit later than originally promised, this still means that the backers or consumers can now get the chance to try it.

Meanwhile, the Sprint and Verizon models of the cloud phone are yet to be done. According to Nextbit, those anticipating these models will have to wait a bit more as they are still working on these CDMA versions.

While the GSM version will be out already by February, the CDMA version might take a longer time and will be coming later after February perhaps. The small delay in producing the Sprint and Verizon versions, however, means that it is about done and users will get to see the Robin smartphone under the two U.S. carriers relatively soon.

The latest of the device when seen is still the same as was originally shown to the public. The Robin smartphone is reportedly said to have its rough parts smoothed out, and everything about the device is now cohesive.

It is reported that there were impressive improvements to Nextbit's software, making it smoother and much more pleasurable to use than it originally was. Nextbit will just have to think of ways on how to market the Robin's intelligent offloading of apps and photos to a cloud and make users want and/or need it for their smartphones.

Nextbit also has to make sure that it satisfies their early supporters in order to make their Robin smartphone succeed in its first release stages to the public.
