Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A Upgraded With Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow; Samsung Galaxy A8 Next In Line
Dheeraj RAfter almost a year-long wait, the South Korean manufacturer, Samsung has already speeded up the OS upgradation process in the past few months. The latest device to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow update is the Samsung S5 LTE-A device. The company has updated many of its high-end phones in the past, but the LTE-A flagship phone is new to the race.
According to the reports from Yibada, the Samsung is trying to upgrade all its flagships devices with the Android 6.0.1 update starting with the South Korean version of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A, which was launched around two years ago.
Tech Times reported that the latest OS upgrade is currently only available in South Korea. There are reports that all the three mobile networks in the country like SK Telecom, LG Telecom, and Korea Telecom Freetel, have already started to roll out the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmellow software update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.
Further, the reports suggest that once the update is completed, the users of the device will be able to witness new features like Google Now on Tap and Doze Mode, a new permissions manager, which will turn off all the connections when the LTE-A users don't actually use their phone, reported Morning News USA.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the Samsung S5 LTE-A users have already been updated with the download notification. There are reports that the owners of these handsets have received the Android Marshmallow update notification. The company has not crossed any issue so far as far as the installation process is concerned,reported UberGizmo.
In addition to the latest upgrade information, few reports have claimed that the Android Marshmellow OS upgrade will next be available in the budget devices such as Galaxy Alpha, Galaxy A8, and Galaxy A7.
"Samsung Galaxy A8 with the model number SM-A800F received the Wi-Fi certification, which implies that the Android Marshmallow update is imminent for the device," reported Android Geeks. "It is expected to get the update in a fortnight."
The other Samsung devices which have already receive the upgrade are Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5 Sport, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy Note Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6 edge+.
