Tom Clancy's 'The Division' 1.2 Update Comes On May 24; Ubisoft Releases Patch Notes

Jazz Rosin

Ubisoft's third-person shooter, Tom Clancy's 'The Division', will be getting its new patch update, 1.2 'Conflict', on Tuesday, and the recently released patch notes details all the changes and updates that the players should expect once the update goes live.

New features include a new incursion mission named 'Clear Sky', which will be available in Columbus Circle. Players must be at least level 30 to play the mission, and the encounter is said the be balanced for a four-man team equipped with high level gear. Hard Mode will be available with the new update, and Challenge Mode will be added a week from the update launch.

The 'Conflict' patch will also introduce four new gear sets. Defensive set Final Measure is the ultimate anti-grenade set, giving players a buff that can defuse a hostile grenade. Marksman set Hunter's Faith focuses on long-distance shooting, and grants temporary armor per hit. The further the shot, the higher the armor bonus. Players will never have to worry about ammo with the utility set Lone Star. Finally, offensive gear Predator's Mark makes enemies bleed, literally, causing 100% more damage.

The new patch will also introduce High Value Targets and Search and Destroy missions. Level 30 players would need to finish all encounters and side missions to get access to the Search and Destroy mission in that area. After the Search and Destroy mission is cleared, players will receive target intel as a reward, and this must be brought to HVT officers at the Base of Operations to locate High Value Targets. Completing daily and weekly High Value Target missions will grant player end game rewards.

Players now have the ability to cut the extraction rope when another player attaches a bag to it, scattering its contents. This is known as Hijack Extractions, and performing an extraction will instantly mark a player as Rogue.

Special sealed caches are now dropped in the Dark Zone by both named and Elite enemies, and would need to be extracted just like any regular loot drop. Player stashes are also now available in every Dark Zone checkpoint, so there will be no need to go back to Base of Operations to collect extracted loot.

A new assignment type, called the ISAC assignment, will be available to level 30 players every week, and completing them will reward players with exclusive vanity items.

New high-end named weapons are also added to the game: M60 light machinegun Hungry Hog, M1911 pistol Centurion, SAIGA12 Shotgun Medved, and M1A marksman rifle Historian. AA12 shotgun Showstopper will be implemented in the game once 'Conflict' launches, but will not be acquirable until the next update. A 201+ Gear Score bracket will also be added for high level players.

Ubisoft also made a few changes to the User Interface of the game, along with a lot of bug fixes, which is the main gripe of some players.

This site has previously reported that Ubisoft is aiming to improve post-game experience with the latest patch, and is also hoping to encourage old players into picking up 'The Division' again. The patch will go live after the three-hour scheduled maintenance, 9am CEST, 3am EDT and 12am PDT on all platforms.
