Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Delayed Due To Intel Kaby Lake Processor?
Dheeraj RThe latest rumors about the release date of the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 hints at the possibility it might be released after Intel launches its new Kaby Lake processor.
Many reports suggest that the new gadget from Microsoft is expected to include the new processor chip from Intel, which has not been released yet and this is one of the major causes behind the delay in the release date of the device.
PC Tablet reported that the release date of the Intel Kaby Lake processor is expected sometime in June 2016, after which it would be made available to be incorporated in Microsoft's upcoming device. The rumors suggest that the technology giant is keen on making its new Surface Pro 5 distinct from its predecessors and thus, has planned to include the Kaby Lake processor chip in the new laptop.
Besides, there are rumors that the Intel processor will help to improve the battery performance of the new Microsoft Surface 5 Pro. The Bit Bag reported that the predecessor of the new device i.e. Surface Pro 4 had major issues with the battery and hence, the company is trying to nullify the defect with the help of the new Kaby Lake processor.
Further, it is also reported that the release date of the tablet from Microsoft might also be delayed due to the upcoming AMD graphics processor, Polaris. The rumors suggest that if the new Surface Pro 5 features Polaris, then the device will have a dedicated graphics chip of its own for the first time.
Meanwhile, with all the release date rumors, Android Origin reported that the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will consist of 4K resolution display with 3840x2160 pixels resolution support. The device is also expected to feature a 14-inch screen with a fingerprint scanner.
Additionally, it is reported that the Surface Pro 4 owners might also be able to purchase the fingerprint scanner sensors i.e. a Type Cover for their tablet.
MNR Daily reported that the new Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will also consist of a micro SD card slot for storage expansion. The rumors also suggest that the new laptop will feature a USB Type-C Port with a rechargeable Surface Pen as additional features.
The release date of the much-awaited Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is expected to be set in September 2016 and will be priced starting from $899.
