Samsung Galaxy S8 To Sport 5.5 Inch UHD Display
Shilpa ChakravortyWith the recent launch of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, analysts are already speculating the specs of the upcoming models. The Samsung Galaxy S8, thus, is rumored to sport a 5.5 inch UHD display, along with other interesting features.
According to a research conducted by the Korean research firm, UBI Research, users can expect the Samsung S8 in 2017. The device will come with a UHD display of 5.5 inch, which will be the first handset in Samsung Galaxy series, reported Korea Herald.
Notably, the first Galaxy handset, which was released in March 2010, featured a 4-inch organic, light emitting diode display. Samsung has been known to use AMOLED panels in all of its devices.
Samsung has also been rumored to improve the display resolution of the Galaxy devices and increased it by 30%, according to reports from Softpedia.
The 4K display of Samsung devices enables a significant improvement in the virtual reality experience, a market that has been growing steadily since its inception.
However, Samsung will not be the first smartphone developer to attach such display to its devices. With the release of Sony's Xperia Z last year, the concept has already been introduced in the market. The phone came with a 5.5 inch screen and 4K Ultra HD Display.
Although this is merely a speculation regarding Samsung Galaxy S8, yet reports do suggest that the device might see a leap in terms of display technology. However, despite of its display technology, it seems that the next handset of Samsung will be appealing to its users.
